Maenza
The magic of the village of former times
Maenza is a small medieval village in the province of Latina, in the Lazio region. Perched on the Lepini Mountains at 358 meters above sea level and about 70 km south of Rome, this picturesque village has around 3,000 inhabitants.
The territory of Maenza is very varied and evocative: you have the mountains behind the town, a hilly landscape going down towards the valley, ending with a flat area towards the borders with the Municipality of Priverno. Despite its hilly position, Maenza is very close to the sea and the well-known seaside resort of Sabaudia (approx. 37 km). From the town, when the sky is clear, it is possible to see the sea and the Pontine Islands.
Maenza offers visitors a series of tourist attractions, such as the imposing Baronial Castle, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and the Loggia dei Mercanti, as well as various cultural events such as concerts of sacred and classical music, exhibitions and shows. Walking through the picturesque alleys of Maenza you will discover many other local jewels.
For sports and nature lovers there are countless paths for walking or cycling, to enjoy the natural beauty of the Lepini Mountains Regional Natural Park.
